In addition to the proven double roll-over conches of the DÜC and DÜC-G series, Frisse has included the ELK series in its delivery program. Thanks to the multifunctional conching tool, it has been possible to implement the sub-processes of mixing, drying, shearing and aroma formation with just one shaft. With a single-shaft conche, in contrast to a three-shaft conche, the geometry of the conching tools is of crucial importance. During the conching process, the rolling stock is subjected to the following technical processes: • Mixing • Drying • Plasticizing • Aroma formation The conching tool alone must enable these processes and combine them in an optimal way, i.e. it must be a multifunctional tool. The ELK blade is a three-dimensional, irregularly curved surface that has a wedge-shaped distance from the boiler wall. In the ELK-V version, the drive motor is controlled with frequency control and can be adapted to the respective mass.
